Face Lift

When you feel young and vital, but your face tells a different story, it may be time for a little lift! As you age, skin begins to lose elasticity, creating sags, creases, and jowls in the mid and lower portions of the face and neck resulting in a tired appearance. If you wish to restore more youthful-looking contours to your face and neck, a facelift (rhytidectomy) may be the solution.

This versatile procedure offers the most long-term results and is typically done on an outpatient basis using conscious sedation, although a patient may opt for general anesthesia in the hospital operating room, if preferred. Most patients return to normal activities in about 2 weeks.

During your Ageless Beauty consultation, your individual advantages and challenges for this procedure will be reviewed with you.

As with any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with rhytidectomy, although major complications are rare.

All of our facial surgery patients get two MLD and Curelight Treatments following their surgery to reduce swelling and bruising

What patients are saying about face lifts
"I always thought face lifts were for little old ladies. I am in my late forties, a runner, fit and healthy, definitely not a face lift candidate, or so I thought. I came to your office because the skin on my neck was wrinkled and loose. And worse yet, I could see jowls forming. In short, I was starting to look like my father. When Dr. Hetherington explained a facelift primarily takes care of the neck and jowls I was surprised. That is not at all what I expected. It is now several months since my surgery and I couldn't be happier. I do not look drawn or "done", just refreshed. My skin is clear and bright thanks to the skin care suggested. Many thanks to all the staff at Big Sky Cosmetic Surgery, you are the best."

What is the difference between a face lift and a mini face lift?
A face lift addresses primarily the neck and jowls. The difference between the face lift and the mini lift refers to the length of the incisions. The mini face lift or short scar incision, is hidden in the front of the ear and runs up the back of the ear. A face lift is for a more aged neck and jowls. The incision is hidden in front of the ear, runs behind the ear and is extended into the hairline. When healed, both are very difficult to detect.
