Eyelid Surgery

If you've tried countless remedies for minimizing bags and sags under your eyes without success, or if you have trouble with excess skin draping over your upper lids, a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) may bring the results you're looking for.

Upper eyelid surgery will remove excess or overhanging skin, and the incision will be hidden in the natural crease of the eye. A lower blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat deposits, hiding the incision just below the natural lash line or just inside the lower lid.

A blepharoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis using conscious sedation. Most patients return to normal activity in about 2 weeks.

Your particular advantages or challenges for this procedure will be outlined for you during your complimentary Ageless Beauty Consultation.

All of our facial surgery patients get two MLD and Curelight Treatments following their surgery to reduce swelling and bruising

What patients are saying about eyelid surgery
"I love my eyelid surgery; my eyes look so refreshed and youthful. People no longer ask me if I am tired or sad. It is so much easier to wear eye makeup as well. I had heard that if you wait long enough the excess skin will impair your vision and insurance will cover the procedure. I thought about waiting, but I am so glad that I didn't. The cost was less than expected and every morning I see a happy, rested face in the mirror, and that is priceless!"

What does the procedure involve?
On the upper lid, the doctor makes a very fine incision in the crease of the eyelid. Excess fat and skin are removed and the incision is closed. Once healed, the scars are almost invisible. On the lower lid, there are two different approaches. One is called transconjunctival (through the inside of the lid) where excess fat is either removed, repositioned or both. No skin is removed; there is no scar.

The other approach is best when there is excess skin as well as bags. A very fine incision is made near the lash line. The fat is either removed, or repositioned, and sometimes the cheek muscle is slightly elevated, then the excess skin removed. Stitches are removed after four days.
